John Dickson Round Action (Assisted Opening) 12 Bore Side by Side

Commissioned on Aug 12th 1897 for Mr Keith Maitland, this is a fine example of John Dickson and Sons patented Round Action side by side.
This example is number 2 of a pair, the top lever and barrel engraved with the number 2 and inlaid “SAFE” in gold at the thumb lever, fore-end inlaid with a Silver “2” in the wood.
Forend and flats marked “Patent 652” indicating the 652nd Round Action made.
Sleeved to a very high standard and reproved at 3 ¼ Tonnes, thought to have been done in Edinburgh in the late 1960s. The bore and condition is excellent. All the costly work to allow this gun to outlive its next owners and shoot modern cartridges well into the next century has been done for you.

Stock has been lengthened to 15 ½” with a fine Walnut extension
