Description
Stevens Model 79 12G 3" Pump Action
28" Barrel 2 3/4" & 3" Chamber 2+1 SGC Shotgun
Believed to date from 1981 in which case a lovely gun for its age with a nice clean barrel
Barrel has raised vented rib with bead foresight
Marked for 4 Ton per square inch
Simple engraving on both the receiver and the bolt depicting a nice pheasant hunting schene with bolt closed
Action and magazine etc functions properly as it should
Easy take-down with one finger operated screw
Wooden furniture is in very good condition but obviously shows some signs if wear and use
If I were keeping this gun I would be stripping it right down and giving it a thorough clean but it is in good condition generally and relatively clean as-is
Equally a usable clay/game/field gun or something to collect with vintage guns appreciating in value
I am only selling this gun as I also have a Savage 30 which I sold and bought back and I wanted to compare the operation of the Model 79 & 30 side by side - they are substantially similar
Stock Length is an estimate please request further details
Section 2 Shotgun Certificate required
Collection in person from Herts/Beds Border near hitchin (A1/M1 J10/J12)
[OR] RFD Transfer - charges apply
I would also be happy to meet at a reasonably close clay ground to demonstrate the gun on a sale or return basis S2SGC Certificate required
Please note I spend a lot of time on the phone for my job so email will often get me quicker
