Description

French Cordier percussion trials rifle in calibre 12.7mm .
This is a very rare trials rifle invented by Claude Minie the inventor of the Minie bullet and patented in the UK on the 12 April 1862
The rifle is full length but the barrel is only 400mm long ,Minie determined that this was the optimum length to accomodate the Minie bullet
The rifle also features an annular ring in the breech rather than a straightforwrd hole to improve ignition reliability
All in good condition with excellent bore
